Issued by
Delaware Real Estate Commission (DPR)
Delaware does not let you fill hours however you like. Its 21 hours are carved into seven required module categories of 3 hours each, so you cannot skip a topic and double up elsewhere - you owe a piece of every module. That structure is the whole story here.
Here is the full picture for brokers, associate brokers, and salespersons, with the new-licensee module rule called out.
The base requirement: 21 hours every 2 years
The Delaware Real Estate Commission requires active brokers, associate brokers, and salespersons to complete 21 hours of approved continuing education during each full renewal period. The period runs May 1 to April 30 of even-numbered years, and the hours must be earned across the required module categories rather than as open electives.
The seven required modules
- Module 1 - Agency and fair housing: 3 hours.
- Module 2 - Professional standards: 3 hours.
- Module 3 - Real estate documents: 3 hours.
- Module 4 - Office management: 3 hours.
- Module 5 - Legislative issues: 3 hours.
- Module 6 - Practices of real estate: 3 hours.
- Module 7 - Elective: 3 hours.
- Six of the seven modules are fixed topics, so only the seventh is a free elective - the rest must each be covered.

Newly licensed individuals, other than those licensed by reciprocity, must complete a set of required new-salesperson module courses within 90 days of the date of license issuance - covering topics such as professional standards, agreement of sale and buyer representation, real estate documents and seller representation, and real estate professionalism. If your first renewal falls early in the cycle, the number of standard CE hours you owe can range from 0 to 21 depending on your exact issue date.
When is your deadline?
Delaware's CE deadline is April 30 of even-numbered years, the end of the renewal period. Completion is tracked through the state's DELPROS system, and the Commission audits a share of licensees - so do not upload certificates unless you are notified you have been selected, but absolutely keep them. Finish with a margin so reporting is in before you renew.
How CredTally keeps this on autopilot
- Track the 21-hour total with a separate ring for each of the seven modules, so you instantly see which module still needs its 3 hours.
- Store each certificate as you finish, filed with the module and credit it proves.
- Reminders at 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before the April 30 even-year deadline.
- If audited through DELPROS, export a dated packet - summary plus every certificate by module - in one click.
- Licensed in Delaware plus another state, or also an appraiser or MLO? Every license has its own card, deadline, and reminders in one dashboard.
