1. [ ]1. Confirm your actual deadlineOpen your licensing board or issuer portal. Record the renewal deadline and any separate CE reporting deadline. Do not rely only on a course provider or employer reminder.
2. [ ]2. Check the rules for your license and cycleConfirm required hours, mandatory topics, eligible providers, and any first-renewal or exemption rules directly with the board. Record the source and date checked.
3. [ ]3. Count completed educationList each course, completion date, provider, hours, and topic. Check that it falls within the right cycle and qualifies before counting it.
4. [ ]4. Find the completion certificatesKeep a readable copy of each certificate with its course entry. If one is missing, request it from the provider while the course is easy to find.
5. [ ]5. Plan the remaining workSeparate total hours from topic-specific gaps. Choose eligible courses and set time aside before the deadline.
6. [ ]6. Check other expiring credentialsReview certifications, registrations, insurance, and memberships relevant to your work. They may have different deadlines from your main license.
7. [ ]7. Set your own calendar remindersChoose useful checkpoints before each deadline. Allow time for missing documents, course completion, and processing.
8. [ ]8. Submit through the official renewal processComplete the board or issuer application, fees, and attestations that apply. Saving records in a tracker is not a renewal submission.
